 | 24 November 2008 - Bulletin: Project Title: Design and Correlation of Grounding Systems at Power Frequency Low Magnitude and High Impulse Currents for Microwave and Utility Substations

Starting Date: Dec2008/Jan 2009
Objectives of the Project: • To determine the electric field profiles of earthing systems considering all variations of the soil resistivity. • To correlate the degree of non-linearity of earthing resistances under high impulse currents and power frequency AC. • To develop a suitable model for the earthing systems based on the tests conducted, and use the model for future analysis and design. The RO must also help the project leader in all work associated with the research.
Required Capabilities: The candidate applying for this position should have good knowledge and demonstrated capabilities in the following: • Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree with honours in Electrical Engineering discipline, preferably 2nd class or above • Good understanding of high voltage, earthing and protection systems, testing and measurement. • Good English proficiency. • Self-motivated, requires minimal supervision, resourceful, keen to learn, possess good communication skills and able to work under pressure
Salary: About RM1800 per month +12% EPF.
The successful candidate is required to enroll in MMU Master of Engineering (by research).
The duration of the project is 2 years.

Objectives of the Project: *To design, simulate and verify the performances of UHF RFID Tag Antenna. *To fabricate the tag antenna. *To analyze the simulated and measured antenna.
The RO must also help the project leader in all work associated with the research.
Required Capabilities: The candidate applying for this position should have good knowledge and demonstrated capabilities in the following: * Good understanding of electromagnetic theory and the associated mathematics, antenna design, propagation, testing and measurement. * Good English proficiency. * The candidate must also be self-motivated, require minimal supervision, be resourceful and willing to learn. The salary is negotiable. The successful candidate is required to enroll in MMU Master of Engineering (by research). The duration of the project is 2 years.
